Traditionally Modern

We are Traditionally Modern at Aussi Bon. What is that anyway. A gimmick? A sales trick?

So, let’s get the technical part covered. ‘Traditional' means existing in or as part of a long-established practice or routine. Traditional foods are dishes that are passed on through generations or have a historic origin in a national dish or local cuisine. Bit boring so far.

Bear with us a bit longer.

But for an ordinary person, traditional in the world of food means to many something home-made, that reminds you of those easy, fun care free days of being a kid. We all sat down to eat a good home made meal, we took our time, our food was filled with nutrients and made with love. We had the time to have hobby’s and just hang out, no hustle required. Work time or school time had fixed start and end times and Leisure Time was all ours to relax and enjoy ourselves.

Modern

Then we grew up, time went by and life got modern. Modern officially means: characteristics of the present or immediate past, involving recent techniques, methods or ideas: up to date. Fresh, new, exciting even.

We worked harder and longer to achieve our goals, we could buy food on the go for convenience, for FUN for pleasure. New flavours combinations were created and, in an effort to achieve more faster, food becomes more processed, and so so flavourful we can’t not eat it. It wasn’t supposed to be this way!

Being traditionally modern means a combination of food made with love, full of nutrients and simple ingredients, designed to nourish you while you take a moment to enjoy and relax, but also modern, with added nutrients and superfoods to give you ‘extra health benefits and added protein to support a plant-based lifestyle, and neatly packaged so you can take it with you, or not. The luxury to choose what’s best for you.
